COLLECTIONS: A JOURNAL FOR MUSEUM & ARCHIVES PROFESSIONALS
Edited by Juilee Decker, Ph.D., Associate Professor, Museum Studies Program

Rochester Institute of Technology

Published by Rowman & Littlefield, a leading publisher of books and journals on museological topics, Collections is a multi-disciplinary journal addressing all aspects of handling, preserving, researching, interpreting, and organizing collections.

Collections: A Journal for Museum and Archives Professionals invites articles on the subject of collections in the areas of scholarly research, case studies, best practices, discussions and interviews, conference and exhibition reports as well as reviews of books and websites or other electronic resources. Curators, archivists, collections managers, preparators, registrars, educators, graduate students, and others are encouraged to submit their work for review.

In addition, proposals are invited for focus issues of the journal that seek to present a range of perspectives on a single topic. Recent focus issues have been presented on the following topics: provenance research in American institutions, resolving old loans, historic houses, cultural property risk analysis, and legal issues involving collections.

Collections: A Journal for Museum and Archives Professionals offers scholarly research, professional guidance, and theoretical grounding from fields such as anthropology, art history, cultural studies, ethnobotany, history, conservation, law, life science, museum studies, archival practices, and library and information science. Practitioners and academics turn to the journal for research in collections management and approaches to the work of museums and archives.

Established in 2004, the journal is an international, peer-reviewed publication that seeks timely exploration of the issues, practices, and policies related to collections.
