Thank you for your interest in the journal Collections: A Journal for Museum and Archives Professionals.

History:

Entering its twelfth year of publication, the journal continues the aim set out by Hugh Genoways and the founding Editorial Board: to interrogate issues of practical and philosophical nature related to the field of collecting, broadly defined. The commonality is that the articles and book, conference, and web reviews deal with “collections” in some way. We have a great deal of flexibility in terms of crafting each issue. For example, a large study from the National Park Service came in at 70 pages and a recent essay by a noted scholar was five pages.

Our readership includes institutions as well as individuals engaged with collections practice and research — from noted institutions and smaller private practices.
