Dr. Juilee Decker is Associate Professor of Art History at Rochester Institute of Technology (Rochester, NY).   She joined the faculty in August 2014 after teaching undergraduate art history, curatorial,  studio art, and foundations courses at Georgetown College (Georgetown, KY) from 2004-2014.
 

Recent professional work includes public art, museums, and archives. In August 2008, Dr Decker was named Editor of the award winning journal, Collections: A Journal for Museum and Archives Professionals published by Rowman & Littlefield (formerly published by AltaMira Press).

From 2008 through 2015, Decker served as Exam Leader for the Advanced Placement (AP) Art History Exam. In this role, Dr. Decker was  responsible for the intellectual content of rubrics that are prepared for the reading of each year’s art history exam which is administered internationally to more than 22,000 students. Prior to serving in this leadership role, Decker served as an Exam Leader, Table Leader, and Question Leader. Her areas of foci relative to the exam were 19th century art, public art, sculpture, and museological/collections content.

 

Dr. Decker has taught a study abroad course several times, first taking students to London and Dublin in 2007-08. For more information on previous study abroad courses, click here. During the summer 2015, Decker visited Sweden & Denmark to undertake preparations for a study abroad course focusing on museums to be based in Malmö.
